Kirkus Reviews: “A welcome debut"

The Three Deaths of Willa Stannard received a Kirkus Star, "one of the most coveted designations in the book industry."

“A welcome debut that’s both a fleet thriller and a pathology of sisterhood at its most harrowing.” —Kirkus Reviews, starred review

I’m overjoyed to share a new starred review of The Three Deaths of Willa Stannard from Kirkus Reviews!

Kirkus Reviews is a literary magazine that publishes book reviews, articles, and interviews. Kirkus has a reputation for being tough yet unbiased. Booksellers and librarians often lean on these reviews when deciding how to stock their shelves.

Kirkus reviews thousands of books each year, but, on average, the editors award the Kirkus Star to 10 percent of the books they assign for review. The Kirkus website says, “the Kirkus Star marks books of exceptional merit.”

As an author, I’m honored to see my debut novel receive this rare designation.

You can read the full review on the Kirkus Reviews website. It will appear in the April 1 issue of Kirkus Reviews.

Pre-order The Three Deaths of Willa Stannard before its release on June 20, 2023.
