2024 Edgar Awards | Mary Higgins Clark Award nomination

The Three Deaths of Willa Stannard is nominated for the Simon & Schuster Mary Higgins Clark Award!

Last week, the Mystery Writers of America announced the 2024 Edgar Allan Poe Award nominations, and my debut thriller is on the shortlist of nominees for the Mary Higgins Clark Award.

I am SO honored to be nominated for this award. It's a bit surreal — this is my first suspense novel, and it is amazing to see it recognized by a panel of judges. I'm so grateful to everyone who's read my book or supported me along my publishing journey.

The winner of the award will be the book most closely written in the Mary Higgins Clark tradition. Check out the criteria:

  • The protagonist is a nice young woman whose life is suddenly invaded.

  • She’s self-made and independent, with primarily good family relationships.

  • She has an interesting job.

  • She is not looking for trouble–she is doing exactly what she should be doing and something cuts across her bow.

  • She solves her problem by her own courage and intelligence.

  • The story has no on-scene violence

  • The story has no strong four-letter words or explicit sex scenes.

The winner will be announced May 1, 2024. Keep your fingers crossed for WILLA!
